Mental Health Awareness Beyond May

Mental Health Awareness month may be coming to an end, but the creator of Mindful Media partnered with us to bring you all a list of some helpful resources, should you ever find yourself in need.

Mindful Media is similar to the Start here STL guide, in that they work to inform the community about viable mental health resources. However, their main goal is to bring awareness to media exposure and how it effects our mental health.

The platform advocates for media monitoring, encouraging people to create and maintain a healthy relationship [with media]. They work to provide current available resources for / within the mental health community, and favor increased funding for mental health initiatives.

“We understand and support the need to be aware of news in the media”, says creator Amber Thornton. “But we urge our community to take time for mindfulness, meditation and self-care.”

Follow the organization on Instagram, Twitter, and / or Facebook for more on mindful media consumption and how if affects your mental health. Check out the list below for general mental health resources in the St. Louis, MO area.
