What You Heard Playlist

Brent Faiyaz first came on the mainstream radar when he was featured on GoldLink’s 2016 smash hit, Crew. But the singer-songwriter had been crafting his debonair sound for almost two years prior.

His most recent project, Fuck The World, has once again turned heads…but I’m confused about where everyone has been, because Brent has been putting out heat for a minute!

Although Fuck The World is a nice culmination of what his sound has evolved to thus far, in my opinion, it isn’t his best project. Don’t get me wrong, I still love it! But nothing on the project gives me the same feeling I got when I first heard the album Into by Sonder (the group he started with record producers Dpat and Atu).

“Too Fast”, the debut single from the Sonder album, is the song that peaked my interest in Brent. And “Feel” is what made me a believer.

Needless to say, I’ve been a fan for a while now. So much so, that I have made it my personal duty to put people who just found out about Brent, on all his “old” stuff. And they are always pleasantly surprised.
