Last week my good friend Ono Ikanone invited me to an intimate happy hour at the Marquee. Most people know Ono for his upscale party series, The Espionage. However, his latest partnership with Shoe Fly STL, Show Me Kicks Expo, and Cool Story Creative not only allowed for a good time, but also allowed party goers to give to a good cause.

I usually don't attend shindigs after work - especially if I don't have time to change beforehand, but I knew I couldn't miss a turn-up for a cause. Besides, the caliber of the event permitted me to wear my casual digs, so I didn't feel too out of place. Actually, it was nice not having to worry about getting all dressed up and wearing heels for once. And of course, in true Ono Celebration's fashion, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

The night was sponsored by D'ussé and sounds were provided by DJ Homicide. Prior to the happy hour over 100 shoes were donated to Shoe Fly STL at The Show Me Kicks Expo, held at The Old Post Office in downtown St. Louis. The donations will be given to children in need at Shoe Fly's Annual Community Shoe Distribution event July 29th.
